Sustainability

Our production commitment.

Since we are on the journey of getting better, we're working towards more certifications and labels. Here's what we're doing so far. We continuously and meticulously evaluate the quality, designs, and prints of each product before shipping. Most importantly, we're also serious about their impact on our environment. We don't store inventory or products. Instead, each piece is made-to-order. There are two benefits to this approach. Environmental costs are reduced because excess inventory is not stored, shipped, managed, and disposed of. Two, each customer gets a product made with the utmost care since we aren't mass producing items. Finally, our products refrain from the use of pesticides, insecticides, and GMOs and have the following ecological labels and certifications. GOTS, OEKO-TEX Standard 100, OCS 100. Below are our sustainability certificates.

OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certifies the absence of harmful chemical substances in all Stanley/Stella products thanks to the "Confidence in textile" label. An independent testing and certification system ensures that all raw, semi-finished, and finished textile products are processed in a way that prioritizes the following. The precautionary principle, which prohibits certain potentially harmful substances even where they are not (yet) legally banned. The absence of chemical substances that are harmful to health and the environment. A restriction on the lead content of dyes.

GOTS is the Global Organic Textile Standard label. The strictest certification for textiles made from organic fibers. GOTS tracks the entire production chain from farm to factory: from harvesting of the cotton, weaving of fibers, assembly of items, to the final product before printing, including even the export of our clothing! It certifies that Stanley/Stella cotton is GMO-free and is grown without chemicals and is processed and dyed without using any banned toxic substances. GOTS also ensures compliance with the labor standards of the International Labour Organization throughout the chain of production.

An approach to holistic operations.

Our designs are printed on the textile using water-based inks, 100% eco-certified by the OEKO-TEX® ECO PASSPORT, and, as mentioned above, by the rigorous GOTS 5.0 label. Namely, our inks take care of not only your skin but also the environment. Regarding shipping, we decided to ban plastic from every shipment. Therefore, we ship without plastic. All products are shipped in top quality eco-friendly recyclable cardboard pouches or, depending on the size of the product, in flexible pouches made of recycled materials. Even the paper used to print your slips is 100% recycled. More specifically, we use two types of packaging. Firstly, rigid envelopes made from recyclable cardboard, with the FSC label, climate neutral. Next, we may use flexible envelopes made of 100% recycled and recyclable kraft paper.

Ethical & transparent practices.

Our suppliers are a member of the Fair Wear Foundation. This association ensures compliance with labor law: "non-labour" of children, absence of discrimination, decent working hours and wages, healthy and safe working conditions. Furthermore, all our products are vegan certified and PETA certified. This means that we do not conduct or commission any animal tests on ingredients, formulations, or finished products and pledge never to do so. Moreover, our apparel is made from 100% vegan materials, so you can be confident that no harm came to anyone during its creation.
